Description |
Washington Gas Energy Systems, Inc. (WGES), is a subsidiary of WGL Holdings, and is an affiliate of a company that has served the Washington metropolitan area for over 150 years, Washington Gas. WGES, a provider of clean energy solutions, is seeking a self motivated project manager with experience in energy related construction projects. Use your project manager experience and knowledge of energy efficiency and clean energy technologies to make our growing team a success! The Project Manager will lead all phases of multiple clean energy projects by: • Supporting the business development team with remote and customer site support to determine the best packaged solution for our customers • Coordinating and executing all energy efficiency audits by third parties at customer sites • Developing preliminary designs and scopes of work in order to develop cost estimates for projects • Providing overall management of subcontracts requirements, including scope, evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, change order management, and project closeout • Overseeing subcontractors project schedule and construction activities including engineering design, site mobilization and de-mobilization • Preparing schedules and budget reports • Managing the start up, commissioning and testing of a diverse array of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems

Requirements |
To be successful in this position you will need to have: • Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience in an energy-related construction industry • BS in engineering or related degree. Five additional years (for a minimum of 15 years) of progressive project management experience in an energy-related construction industry may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree • Knowledge of current construction codes for mechanical and electrical systems and familiarity with federal and local energy standards • Experience managing the design of projects to ensure constructability and technical performance • Experience managing construction sites • Solar photovoltaic project experience is a plus • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion when making business decisions • Must be proficient in MS Project, Excel and Word, and Lotus Notes or MS Outlook.
